(Click the No__ will bring up a reference map) Looking north one can see the United Church (No 7): constructed in 1849 - the town's first Wesleyan Methodist Church. Alterations made in 1901 include changes in the fenestration and the erection of the Church in 1925. Classically inspired its appearance follows the typical parish church in England developed by Wren and his followers. Many details were lost when stuccoed; the round-headed windows with protruding keystones and drip mouldings, the intricate brackets, and the lunettes of the tower are especially noteworthy. Lost was an elaborate metal ridge ornament clasping pilasters on the corners, (still slightly visible on the tower) much of the cornice and oculous in the centre of the southern gable. East on Queen is the, Issac Lewis House, ca. 1826, another Ontario Cottage (No 8).
